520 # # |a This article aims to provide the reader with an outline of the major characteristics of the theories that the main theoretical and Italian authorities began to resume and reinterpret in the second half of the sixteenth century as a result of Aristotle's Poetics discovery. Most of these treaties and compendiums skip the Italian borders and spread the neo-Aristotelian doctrine abroad by conditioning the receipt and understanding of the text in Renaissance theater.
