520 | # | # | |a This paper will explore the importance of biblical Korahs role in Walter Benjamins Critique of Violence, namely in the last part, dealing with divine violence. Korah, who had led a revolt against Moses and Aharon, was annihilated by Gods violence, i.e., a purely revolutionary violence. My aim in this attempt to reconstruct the sources of the text and Korahs intervention in the narrative is to point out how Benjamins grasp of revolution has been misunderstood and how Korah features a first step in constructing the messianic theatre. |
